Our Junior B Hurlers completed a clean sweep of Duhallow Hurling titles for 2013 when winning the Junior B League Final (replay) against Meelin in Meellin on Sunday the 7th of Dec 2014, on a score line of 2-07 to 0-11.
The final was a draw last year and after a number of postponements was played at the very end of this playing season. It was a competitive game throughout and Meelin were having the better of it leading by 0-07 to 0-02 after 20 minutes playing with the breeze. Two goals and two points in a five minute spell at the end of the first half proved to be the turning point however and Kilbrin led by 2-04 to 0-08 at half time.
In the second half scoring slowed up as players tired and the breeze proved tricky however Kilbrin maintained the two point lead and held out for the win with Neil Cronin receiving the cup from Stephen Lynch.
This victory created a little bit of history completing the final part of a clean sweep in Duhallow with Kilbrin winning every adult Hurling competition in the division for 2013, the Junior A and B Hurling Leages, the Junior A and B Hurling Champiuonships and the U21 Hurling Championship.
Well done to all the players and management teams involved.
